Our new buck converter is also known as the “adjustable step-down module” is a DC-to-DC power converter that lowers the voltage while decreasing down the current from its input (power supply) to its output (load capacity).
Step-down modules are used in many instances from power supplies where lower voltages may be needed to achieve low power requirements. We have gone a step further and now, this buck converter may also be used to charge lithium batteries.
What is a buck or step-down converter?
They are like a switched-mode power supply (SMPS) or a “switching power supply” containing at least a diode, a transistor and at least one energy storage element: a capacitor, inductor, or the two in combination. In other words, the buck converter is used to "step-down" an input voltage to some lower level, required by a load. In a buck converter, the input voltage must always be higher than the output voltage.
Highlights:
Adjustable Voltage: Our buck converter can be used with the common input DC voltages of 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V and can easily adjust to a DC output voltage between 1.25V to 35V by using the blue adjustable resistor. We highly recommend always adjust the input voltage to at least 2 values higher than the needed output voltage.
Lower Current Consumption: Its maximum output power consumption is 3A, please make sure it does not exceed 3A.
High Efficiency: Its efficiency rate conversion is up to 92%, the efficiency is related to input, output voltage, current, and pressure difference.
How does it work?
- Module:
Adjust the knob of the blue potentiometer (rotate clockwise for general boost and counterclockwise for decline), and use the multimeter to reach the voltage required for monitoring the output voltage.
